How to Set Up Review Rewards
Last updated July 9, 2026
Review rewards let you pay customers in Bitcoin (sats) for reviewing the products they've already bought from you. After a Shopify order ships, the Oshi rewards portal surfaces the exact products that customer purchased and offers sats for each one they review. Every review comes from a verified buyer — not an anonymous drive-by — and each one can be displayed right on your storefront to help turn future browsers into buyers.
Step 1: Navigate to Review Rewards
From your merchant dashboard, go to Loyalty Program and select the Reviews tab. This is where you turn the program on and set how many sats a review is worth.
Step 2: Enable Review Rewards
Toggle Review Rewards Program Status to Active. The first time you enable it, Oshi seeds a default payout of 5,000 sats so you can go live without any extra setup. Once enabled, the Review & Earn card starts appearing in your customers' rewards portal after their orders ship.
Step 3: Set Sats Per Review
Enter the number of sats a customer earns in the Sats per review field. This amount is paid for each distinct product a customer reviews — so a customer who bought three different items and reviews all three earns the payout three times.
- Default: 5,000 sats per review.
- Whole numbers only, set to 0 or higher.
Step 4: Choose Where Reviews Appear on Your Store
Reviews customers write in the Oshi portal can be published on your storefront so future shoppers see them. There are two ways to display them, and you'll want at least one turned on:
- Oshi app embed (Product Reviews block). In your Shopify admin, open the Theme editor, go to App embeds, and enable the Oshi Product Reviews block. Reviews collected through Oshi then render on your product pages automatically — no extra tools required.
- Judge.me. If you already use Judge.me, connect it from your Oshi Connections page. Reviews submitted in the rewards app are posted straight to your Judge.me account and appear anywhere your Judge.me widgets already display them.
What Your Customers See
Once reviews are live, here's the experience on the customer's side in their rewards portal:
- A Review & Earn card appears after they make a purchase, inviting them to review their purchase and earn sats.
- They pick a product. The portal lists the exact items from their orders, each with a "+sats" badge. Products they've already reviewed are marked Reviewed and can't be reviewed twice.
- They write the review — a 1–5 star rating (required) plus a short write-up. They can add an optional display name and title, or tap Create AI-assisted review to speak their thoughts out loud and have Oshi turn them into a clean, written review.
- They submit and earn. The reward is confirmed once the review is verified, and the sats land in the customer's Oshi balance.
How Sats Are Awarded
- Sats are paid per distinct product reviewed, at the amount you set in Step 3.
- Rewards are verified before they're paid. Unlike an instant social payout, a review's sats are confirmed once the review is validated and posted, then credited to the customer's balance.
- Customers can only review products they actually purchased through Shopify, and only once per product.
Built-In Safeguards
A few rules run automatically to keep the program honest — you don't configure any of them:
- Verified purchase required. Only products a customer actually bought — confirmed against your Shopify orders — can be reviewed for sats.
- One reward per product, per customer. The same customer can't review the same product twice to farm sats.
- Reviews unlock after the order ships, not the moment it's placed.
- Unclaimed rewards expire in 30 days, consistent with the rest of your Oshi rewards.
Connecting Other Review Platforms
Today, the reviews your customers write in Oshi can display through the built-in Oshi app embed or flow into Judge.me. Support for additional review platforms — such as Yotpo — is on the way, so Oshi reviews will be able to feed the review system you already run on your store. If a specific integration matters to you, let the Oshi team know.

- Set up UGC rewards to pay customers for posting about your business on social media.
- Configure the rewards lockup period to control the window on customer rewards.
- Fund your rewards balance to make sure you have enough sats to cover payouts.
