How to Configure the Rewards Lock-Up Period

Last updated February 28, 2026

The lock-up period controls how long customers must wait after earning rewards before they can withdraw them. During the lock-up window, customers can still redeem their rewards at your store for discounts or store credit (if you have Ways to Redeem set up) — they just can't withdraw rewards out of the system. This protects your business from paying out rewards on orders that end up being returned, disputed, or charged back.

If a chargeback or refund does occur during the lock-up window, Oshi will automatically claw back the associated rewards if they are still available. This is fully automated — you don't need to manually track or reverse anything.

Steps

1. Navigate to Lock-Up Period

From your Oshi dashboard, go to Loyalty Program and select the Lock-Up Period option.

2. Choose Your Lock-Up Period

Select one of three options:

  • 30 Days
  • 60 Days
  • 90 Days

Click the card for your preferred period. The selection saves automatically.

Tip: 60 days is a good starting point for most businesses. It covers the typical chargeback and return window while keeping customers engaged with their upcoming rewards.
